SUP Yoga Vancouver has combined Stand Up Paddling with Yoga to teach you to breathe, move and be present not only on the water but in your everyday. SUP Yoga will tone your core, build your stability and provide you with a fun learning environment to play and have fun with your practice outside the studio.
SUP Yoga classes will include on land Yoga teachings to prepare you to take your sequence of postures onto the water. On the water we will flow and move while floating and enjoying all the elements of the wilderness and landscapes from snowy mountain tops to beautiful ocean sunsets.
Combining breath with movement you’re sure to find moments of fun, laughter and focus while moving with the water on your board.
*Learn to SUP lesson is a prerequisite for SUP Yoga lessons.
*Previous Yoga experience is an asset – but not required.
*Wear comfortable clothing that you can move and stretch in – dress in layers for the weather and conditions (rain or shine).

Learn to SUP is designed to teach the first time Stand Up Paddler the basic knowledge and skills needed to feel comfortable on the water. Starting with how to carry your board and entering the water safely, we then move to the water and learn to paddle from your knees to stand up paddling. You will learn basic forward stroke as well as how to maneuver your board amongst others. Our goal is to ensure you have a great time on the water while learning all the basic paddling skills. If your next trip takes you to Hawaii, Australia, across the water to Bowen Island or Vancouver Island, then start with SUP Vancouver and gain the confidence and experience so that you can enjoy the endless locations around the world to stand up paddle.
SUP Yoga - 75 Minutes

SUP Yoga is a combination of Stand Up Paddling and Yoga; the emphasis on core stability is a wonderful addition to the yoga workout and the paddling experience. The peacefulness of floating on the water combines nicely with the meditative nature of yoga. In this class you will be provided with an on shore yoga lesson to provide you with the skills needed to take your yoga on to the water. Once on the water enjoy the freedom to move and be moved on our 'moving mat'.
*Sessions will be adjusted to best suit the group based on level of paddling and level of yoga.
Group Lessons - SUP & SUP Yoga
Book your very own customized GROUP SUP lesson for your next employee or client appreciation event. SUP Vancouver will create and customize a program that suits your needs from individual attention for beginners to challenging your skills in all types of water conditions including surfing wind swell. Your group will get one on one attention in your fully customized private lesson, or bring your friends and learn together for less.
RESTRICTIONS: Lesson must be pre-booked and paid for online. Exceptions will be made if individuals would like to pay by cheque, on-site. Invoices will be produced for any group bookings. All students must be 16 years of age or older. No refunds or exchanges on lessons. In the case of inclement weather an alternate date for your lesson will be provided, SUP Vancouver will do it's best to accommodate all students by offering alternate dates/times in order to fulfill your lesson booking.
Please arrive 15 minutes before lesson to get fitted with the right size board and paddle and get ready to SUP.

What to wear?
FIRST CHECK THE WEATHER
Layered clothing is best, from shorts & t-shirts to long sleeves & long pants with wind jacket & wind pants. Hats and gloves are also great add ons on windy/cool days. Wetsuits, footwear etc is NOT provided. You 'may' get wet so a change of clothes is always recommended!
